Mbeki speaks to Mugabe and breakaway MDC chief

The Sydney News.Net
Saturday 5th July, 2008

Thabo Mbeki, the president of South Africa, has held talks in Zimbabwe with President Robert Mugabe and Arthur Mutambara, leader of a breakaway faction of the Movement for Democratic Change.

However MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai has refused to speak with the South African president.

Mr Tsvangirai previously asked that Mr Mbeki be replaced as mediator because of his alleged sympathies for President Mugabe.

Mr Tsvangirai, who won the first round in the presidential election, withdrew from the second round following what he described as a campaign of systematic violence against his supporters.

Mbeki speaks to Mugabe and breakaway MDC chief

Tsvangirai is a puppet of the West and not intelligent man.The Govt of National Unity GNU is the best Zimbabwean solution.Just after he withdrew from the elections, he was talking positive of GNU and everyone was happy. Now that France, USA, Britain etc said they don’t recognise Mugabe as President of Zimbabwe, and they recognise the first elections of 27 March were he won.He suddenly listens to the West, after having accepted the first results and prepared for a run off.

Mutambara is younger but more mature, intelligent and more principled than the undecided and manipulated Morgan.Noone wants Mugabe but Tsvangirai is not the right option.Morgan has done his part, he should pass on the button, he was not meant to be President but a vital process of change.

West and Africa, a nightmare relation

Zimbabwe is still paying the price of colonial expoliatation.
Western interests are playing under cover i the countryv - not for the welfare of Zimbavians but for their own interest.
British have failed in Zimbabwe and are still wish to have power through proxy.

Garbage. Why does everyone think the Brits want to colonise Zimbabwe? Just look at the history. Britain wanted to hand the country over to black control in the '60s but the existing government (Rhodesian government)declared UDI and prevented that from happening. The last thing the UK wants is a basket case like Zimbabwe

Tsvangirai is right through and through

Tsvangirai was right to snub the so called Mbeki led talks just on the eve of the G8 summit. He has shown maturity and consistence as opposed to the Mutambara led formation which is inconsistent and power hungry. How on earth does Mbeki and indeed some like minded people expect Tsvangirai to sit at the same table with Mugabe when his supporters were killed and maimed by zanu pf thugs which we all know?As we speak elected Mdc mps are languishing in jail and others were abducted and their fate remains unknown.Mugabe should be more serious and start to show it by releasing all mdc mps and suppoters in jail on trumped up charges because none from zanu pf were arrested after having killed over a hundred mdc people. So people like Gilbert should not just blame Tsvangirai without basis. What Gilbert and his favourite mdc Mutambara dont know is that Tsvangirai is moving with the people as of now whether they like it or not.

to all

The Brit.goverment do want any part of the African countries because it is costing too much man power and money.Nowadays it is not logical to occupied any country. The African will kill each other because of the tribal system. The are nomad and hungry for power over once tribe. It is not going to stop until the finish each other to final breath/ That goes with Muslims sect. Power is the bottom line and nobody could stop it.The law of dimishing return.Until the great leader will appear and unite them to one tribe or country and the it will be peace again among African. The former Rhodensia used to be a very progressive control and know to be the one of the basket food of African nation, enough to feed three or four African nation. Look it now, people are suffering because of the present leadership and land are not being cultivated and most of them are now barren waste land. The African can not live to survive if do not relied on the white farmer to raise crops. I hate to say that but it is true to the facts. Correct me if I am wrong Africaners. Sometimes the truth hurts but it imperative to accept it.

Wstern self interest colours the media

Things do not look good in Zimbabwe - does that mean that western governmnts and multinationals be given another go -another period of domination?
West is only interested in making money at any cost to local welfare.
If htere was gold on the moon - the british interests would have been there.

If the Brit. did not influence the African nation you all will wearing lion clothing as of now.And most likely you all be still in the savage stage of civilization. You all have been given independence to govern your nation prioperly but in any events you did now learn from the Brit. it is your tough luck.Since some of your leaders rape or abuse the country wealth, it is no longer the Brit. fault.Remember I am one of you speakung and I have seen and experience how the countrys leader abuse thier power. The Brit. has nothing to do with it it is yours and yours alone. Sabe. Wake up rkc there is no British flag flying in the African flag pole, it is the Africaners flag. Look at it dummy.Do not put the blame on somebody else you do not have nothing to do with it.Taste you own cooking and eat it. Because the Brit.is long gone and no longer dectates what the Africaners goverment need to do.Every politician in The African continent is lining up thier pocket first before the countrys welfare.

The white man has exploited Africa under a long period. Children were trained kill their own people by the colonialists from Britain, Germany and Belgium.
Acts of bribing and other degereative practices were introduced. Tribal conflicts were promoted. This rape of Africa went on for three hundred years!
Mugabe is now working hard to clean the stains of this rape. It may take three generations. But then the Fenix shall rise.
Brits have nothing to be proud of- the heritage of their years in Africa is a continent with disrupted
trajectory of enligtenment and welfare for years to come.
